End Of Term 3 Newsletter

Last week, on Thursday the 11th of September, we made scones in STEM. Most people got a turn to do a step for the ingredients. It was super fun to watch everyone cook. It was like a mini version of the Master Chef show. The scones took around ten or twenty minutes. After the ten minute break we got to eat the scones. They were really good and almost everyone wanted seconds. 

For the past couple of weeks we have been working on our own wild robot costumes and I got paired up with Ned, Nate, Hayley G, and Caleb R. Our robot is made up of cardboard, paper, straws and yarn. My robot's special feature is that it can pick up laundry and it has a built-in vacuum. Some of the other groups' robots have special features like playing games. All of them are different colours. Now that our robots are finished we are going to make our own movies using a green screen in our classroom.

Yesterday, Caleb R competed in the next stage of golf and a few other people from other classes also did too. All the people that competed, we hope you did really well!

Hello everyone, we have had a very busy term three.

Yesterday, I got to create a Robot in ICT with Mr Shuttleworth. We used Lego to make it. We had to listen to instructions on the computer and then Caleb R and I made the Robot from all different Lego pieces put together. We have been doing our Lego projects in ICT for the last few lessons and they have been really fun and interesting.

We had to work as a team to be able to build it. Bridget went around taking photos of us creating the Lego. Using the Lego reminded me of our last excursion, Earth Ed where we got to make Lego cities. That was so fun! 

In Maths, we have been working on fractions and decimal points. An example is 7 out of 100 = 0.07. We know that the denominator is at the bottom and the numerator is on top of a fraction. 

This term the book we are reading is called The Wild Robot. The book is about a robot on an island who saved a baby geese. The robot meets friends and finds out how to talk to the animals. 

Overall I have enjoyed my first term at this school but I'm also looking forward to the holidays.
