Ongoing Theft and Vandalism in Our School Garden
It is with a heavy heart and deep disappointment that we update our school community regarding the recent incidents of theft and vandalism in our beloved school garden. As you know, we have worked tirelessly to create a nurturing environment where our children can learn the joys of growing and harvesting fresh fruit. Unfortunately, our efforts have been severely undermined by ongoing theft.
In recent weeks, our nectarine, peach, plum, and blueberry trees have been stolen. Our orange tree has been uprooted, seemingly in preparation for theft. Additionally, our windmill, numerous palms, and staghorns have been taken, and our children's garden beds have been destroyed after hours, with their plantings carelessly dumped on the ground.
This is not just a loss of plants and equipment; it is a loss of the hard work, dedication, and dreams of our children and community. It is extremely disheartening to see our efforts disrespected in this manner. It is deeply disappointing to think that some individuals feel entitled to take what does not belong to them.
We urge anyone with information about these incidents to come forward. Let us work together to protect our garden and ensure it remains a place of learning and joy for our children.
Thank you for your support and understanding during this challenging time.
