Terrific Times in Year Two

Community Helpers
This term, we were lucky to have Senior Constable Mark Smith visit our school as part of our Inquiry unit. We are learning about important people in our community and the ways they help and support us. Students learnt so much about the role of the police, how they keep us safe and the different ways they help our community each day. We encourage you to continue these conversations at home by discussing with your child how and when to contact the police and the important work they do in our community.
In Religion students have been learning about stewardship and the Catholic understanding of caring for God’s creation. We have explored Pope Francis’ encyclical Laudato Si’ and connected its message to the Creation Story. Students are developing an understanding of the impact humans have on the environment and reflecting on ways they can be good stewards of the Earth. You may like to research Laudato Si’ at home and discuss with your child how we can all care for our world.
