Middle School Report

We have had a very positive and settled start to Term 2. Students have returned from the holidays refreshed, motivated, and ready to engage in their learning. It has been wonderful to see students reconnecting with their peers and teachers, and re-establishing positive routines in the classroom.

Across Years 9 and 10, there has been a strong focus on building consistency with learning habits, organisation, and classroom participation. Teachers have been supporting students to set clear goals for the term and encouraging them to take increasing responsibility for their learning. We have already seen many students demonstrating improved focus, resilience, and a willingness to challenge themselves.

Our wellbeing space continues to play an important role in supporting students’ social and emotional development. Students have been engaging in sessions that promote positive relationships, communication skills, and strategies for managing challenges both in and out of the classroom. It has been pleasing to see students supporting one another and contributing to a respectful and inclusive school environment.

ANZAC Ceremony

We are proud of our Year 9's and 10's who presented at the ANZAC Ceremony on Friday 24th April. Students played in the band and shared heartfelt readings - their involvement was meaningful and respectful, and they represented Middle School with great care and maturity!

Year 9 Nine-finity program

As part of our new Year 9 Nine-finity program, students will participate in community service at Roshana Macleod Aged Care in small groups, at least once throughout the term.

During these visits, students will converse with the residents and participate in structured activities alongside them. This program aims to:

  • Foster meaningful connections between younger and older generations
  • Reduce social isolation and loneliness among residents
  • Build students’ empathy, communication skills, and teamwork
  • Create enjoyable and memorable experiences through activities such as reminiscence sessions, collaborative games, craft projects, and music or sing-alongs

We would like to remind families that blazers are required to be worn to and from school throughout Terms 2 and 3. If there are any concerns or challenges regarding this expectation, please do not hesitate to get in touch so we can provide support.
