Careers around the Campus
Following the recent Careers Education program and Year 10 Subject Selection Evening, now is an ideal time for families to start meaningful conversations about future pathways and career aspirations.
We encourage Year 10 parents and carers to sit down with their child and reflect on their interests, strengths and emerging goals. The Year 10 'Step Up into Uni' guide is a valuable resource to support these discussions, helping to explore subject choices and how they connect to potential university and career pathways.
It is important to remember that there are many different pathways to success. In addition to traditional university routes, students may wish to consider practical and vocational options such as Externally Delivered Vocational Education and Training (EVET) courses delivered through TAFE or School-Based Apprenticeships and Traineeships (SBATs), which allow students to gain hands-on experience while completing their HSC.
Families are also encouraged to make an appointment with the College Careers Advisor to discuss individual goals, explore options, and ensure students are making informed decisions that align with their aspirations.
Open conversations and early planning can make a significant difference in helping students feel confident and prepared for the next stage of their journey.
