Lunchtime Gym Activities

This year, our focus in the PE department has been on increasing engagement and participation, while intentionally strengthening relationships, not only between staff and students, but also among students themselves.
One way we’ve brought this to life is through our lunchtime gym sessions. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, students have access to LESC's gym facilities under the supervision of a qualified personal trainer. Our Year 7 and 8 students have been developing their understanding of fundamental movement patterns through bodyweight exercises, while our Year 9–12 students have been learning how to safely and effectively use machine weights, with a strong focus on correct technique.
Each Tuesday and Thursday, the gym has been full of students eager to connect with staff and peers, while also taking positive steps to look after their physical and mental wellbeing. The sessions have quickly become a valued part of the week, and we’re already seeing noticeable improvements in student attitude, engagement and behaviour.
We are excited to continue building on this momentum and providing opportunities that support both student wellbeing and a strong, positive culture within our school.
