Food Tech

There has been plenty happening in the Food Tech kitchen already this year, with students continuing to build their skills and confidence in healthy cooking and preparing meals from scratch.

 

Students have been developing their understanding of balanced nutrition while learning practical skills such as safe food handling, knife techniques and working collaboratively in the kitchen. It’s been fantastic to see their independence grow as they follow recipes, manage their time and produce impressive results.

Our Year 8 students have recently been busy making chicken tacos and sushi, learning about flavour combinations, fresh ingredients and the importance of presentation. From perfectly rolled sushi to colourful taco creations, the kitchen has been full of creativity (and delicious aromas!).
