LESC Swimming Carnival
Celebrating participation, performance and school pride.
The 2026 LESC Swimming Carnival was held in perfect conditions, with the temperature reaching 35 degrees, an ideal day to be in the water.
The effort in fancy dress certainly didn’t disappoint. Narrowing it down to just five placegetters was no easy task. Results were as follows:
4th – Bailey Upton and Cooper Rogerson
3rd – Joshua Cheesley
2nd – Alexis Smart
Best Dressed – Darcey Carter

Thank you to every student who dressed up and added to the atmosphere of the day. Your creativity and school spirit made it memorable.

We kicked off the day with our Year 12s enjoying their final Swimming Carnival at LESC, featuring a mixed relay. Spirits were high as they slowly (but surely) made their way up and down the pool, with plenty of laughter and shenanigans along the way.

Throughout the day, all houses did their best to accumulate points. It became clear early on that two teams were setting the pace, but every student who participated gave their absolute best for their house. In my first year running the event, I had a great day. Students were well-behaved, respectful, and embraced the opportunity to enjoy themselves in the heat.

The novelty events and free swim were easily the most popular parts of the day, no surprises there. We were also fortunate to be joined by two mermaids, thanks to Bailey Upton and Cooper Rogerson, who added even more entertainment.
Final results were:
4th – Pelican (29 points)
3rd – Gannet (65 points)
2nd – Albatross (99 points)
1st – Kingfisher (123 points)

Thank you to all staff who contributed to making the day run smoothly, and to all students who represented their houses with effort and pride.
