⚠️Fire Danger Closures

Dear Parents and Carers,
Throughout this severe bushfire season, we remain committed to keeping you informed of our emergency management planning and ensuring the safety of our school community.
The Week Ahead Mon 16/2/26 to Fri 20/2/26
While high temperatures are expected throughout the coming week, most days currently sit below the "Extreme" threshold. However, we are closely monitoring the forecast for Tuesday,17th February 2026, as there is a high likelihood of an Extreme Fire Danger Rating for the Macedon Ranges Local Government Area.
I understand that the rationale behind why some high-temperature days lead to relocation while others do not can be frustrating. These ratings are determined by the Bureau of Meteorology based on a combination of temperature, humidity, and wind conditions.
What This Means for Tuesday
At an Extreme rating, our school site is required to activate our relocation plan.
This means that no staff, students, or contractors are permitted on-site for safety reasons.
If the Extreme rating is confirmed for Tuesday:
- We will move operations to our partner host school, St Brigid's School, 68 Aitken St, Gisborne VIC 3437
- We are currently preparing for this possibility by reviewing timetables, packing equipment and confirming AV equipment with suppliers.
We are aware that this is a specialist day for our junior students, therefore students in Grades P-2 will wear their sports uniform.
We are incredibly grateful to Mel Daly, the students, staff and famililes at St Brigid's School for standing ready to accommodate us. Our staff are prepared to ensure learning continues with as little disruption as possible.
Final Confirmation
For the remainder of the week, we expect to be learning as normal from our own school facilities. However, as weather forecasts can change rapidly, we will continue to provide updates.
The final decision regarding Tuesday’s relocation will be made by 4:00 PM this Sunday, in line with official advice. All families and staff will be notified immediately via SMS immediately once that decision is reached, followed by an email with further detail.
Thank you for your continued patience and support as we navigate this unpredictable fire season together. We will continue to advocate for our community and please know we are committed to ensuring our children stay engaged in learning and are always safe.
Many Blessings,
Eloise Meyer
Principal
