New Artworks

We are blessed to have two new artworks in our multipurpose room that beautifully bridge our Catholic identity with the deep cultural heritage of our land.

This stunning piece is by Aboriginal artist Lorraine Morrison. It depicts women in her community passing on traditions and teaching children through the power of story.

The artwork also features Bunjil the Eagle, the Creator spirit. For our school community, this piece holds a deep spiritual resonance:

  • Just as the women in the painting pass on their culture, we are called to share the "Deposit of Faith", the sacred stories of the Gospel, with our children.
  • We see a beautiful parallel between Bunjil and the Holy Spirit, both representing wisdom, protection, and the breath of life over our school.
  • It also reminds us that teaching is a sacred act of connection, linking our past, our faith, and our future.

The second artwork is a large cross composed of individual tiles, created by our students during last year’s Feast Day. This piece is a vibrant map of our school’s identity, with tiles displaying self-portraits, memories with friends, and images of school life.

The four colours represent our school houses, coming together to form a single, unified cross as one body.

It is an important visual reminder that every student is a unique and essential part of our faith community.
