Inter-house Athletics Carnival 2025
On Wednesday 6 August, the College community gathered at Ern Clark Athletics Centre for our annual Inter-house Athletics Carnival. The weather couldn’t have been better, creating the perfect conditions for students to showcase their athleticism, sportsmanship, and House pride.
It was inspiring to witness the dedication and competitive spirit of our students throughout the day. Thank you to the many staff and students who assisted in running the event, and a special acknowledgement to our College Athletics Coach, Lisa Hopkins, for her invaluable guidance both on the day and in the lead-up — your commitment is greatly appreciated. It was also wonderful to see parents, extended family members, and ex-students in attendance, cheering on our athletes and adding to the carnival atmosphere.
The competition was fierce, with more than four lead changes on the ladder throughout the day. Both Tongerlo and Xanten proved to be strong contenders for top honours, but in the end, Xanten emerged as the 2025 House Champion!

We also celebrate three talented athletes who broke long-standing College records:
Lexi Walters (Year 7) – Shot Put: 8.98m (previous record: 8.55m, 2020)
Harper Kacimaiwai (Year 9) – Discus: 42.57m (previous record: 34.60m, 2013)
Maddison Walters (Year 12) – 1500m: 5:50.56 (previous record: 5:53.05, 2020)
Congratulations to all students for their efforts, achievements, and commitment to making this carnival a memorable celebration of sport, teamwork, and House spirit.
