Kairos 38

St Norbert College recently held the Kairos 38 Retreat with our Year 11 students, an inspiring and faith-filled experience for all involved.

We extend our sincere gratitude to our outstanding Kairos Leaders: Caylee Fitzgerald, Jessica Aim, Leonica Jesuthasan and Zoelene Ontiveros for leading the retreat with confidence, reverence, and compassion.

A special thank you also goes to the dedicated staff who accompanied and supported the retreat: Miss Raya Thompson, Miss Teleah McKeown, Miss Katie Woodford, Miss Molly Rafter, Mr Paul Murphy, Mrs Jenny Palermo, and Ms Karen MaGee.

Year 10 – Prepared for All Good Works Program

On Monday, I launched the Year 10 Christian Service Learning Program to all Year 10 students. Each student received a letter outlining the program requirements.

It is essential that students complete and return the form indicating whether they would like the College to organise their placement or if they will organise their own. This form is due to the Work Prep office by Friday, 5 September.

Year 8 – Serving at Home Program

This week, I introduced the Year 8 Christian Service Learning Program to our Year 8 students. A letter and booklet were also sent home to explain the process to parents and students.

Students have just over four weeks to complete seven hours of service within their home community. We encourage parents to support and guide their child in achieving this goal.

Suggested activities include:

  • Gardening

  • Cooking a meal

  • Assisting a grandparent with shopping or cleaning tasks

  • Washing the car

Thank you for your support in helping our students serve their community at home.

Kimberley Immersion – Donations Needed

Every year we are humbled by the generosity of our community in supporting the Kimberley Immersion.

We have recently been informed that the Kununurra Community Kitchen is in need of the following items:

  • Toys (in good used condition)

  • Small gifts for adults

  • Packages of new underwear for adults and children

  • Used clothing

  • Toiletries

All donations can be handed into Student Ministry by Monday, 1 September.
