Year 10 Career and Enterprise – Workplace Learning Week

This week, our Year 10 Career and Enterprise students traded their school uniforms for workplace attire, stepping out of the classroom and into real-world work environments. Over the course of the week, they gained valuable hands-on experience across a diverse range of industries from aviation and radiography to pharmacy, education, fitness, and childcare.

These placements are an important part of preparing our students for life beyond school. They not only help students explore potential career pathways but also develop transferable skills such as communication, teamwork, time management, and adaptability.

We are especially proud of students like Raven, whose placement in the bakery department became a standout success:

“Raven is doing really well. We’re starting to see his confidence grow. He’s really enjoyed his time in the bakery department, baking cookies and packing baked goods. Even though he finishes up tomorrow, we presented him with a gift card today as a way to say thanks.”

Stories like Raven’s highlight the positive impact these opportunities have not only on our students but also on the workplaces that welcome them.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to all the businesses and mentors who have partnered with us this week. Your time, guidance, and encouragement leave a lasting impression and inspire our students to dream bigger about their futures.
