Father’s Day Breakfast
Come and join us for a wonderful Father’s Day brekky on Friday 5th September from 7.45am. We would love to celebrate all the fathers, father figures, uncles, grandfathers, and dad-type caregivers of the school community. Join us in the school hall for some coffee, snacks and great chat. Please order your FREE brekky bacon & egg roll (for dads) and mini sausages in bread (for kids) on Qkr! by 10am on Monday 1st September, to help us cater.
Book Fair
Come and join us for another wonderful book fair, run by PFA this year! The book fair will be open in the school library on Thursday 28th August and Friday 29th August from 3pm - 4.30pm. We would love for you to come and purchase some books and small stationery products, with proceeds supporting our school community. Eftpos will be available.
90s Trivia Disco Bingo Parent Evening – A Brilliant Success!
We’re still buzzing from the fantastic atmosphere at our recent Parent Evening. Themed around 90s Trivia Disco Bingo, the event was a huge hit, bringing together parents and friends for a night of music, memories, and community spirit.
The Bowls Club hall was transformed into a retro disco wonderland – complete with glitter balls, neon lights, and the best throwback hits from the 1990s. From Spice Girls to Backstreet Boys, the bingo cards were packed with musical nostalgia, and it wasn’t long before everyone was singing along and getting competitive!
Laughter filled the room as parents got into the spirit, showing off their 90s dance moves, donning fabulous outfits, and embracing the fun. Trivia rounds were broken up with quizzes, prizes, and plenty of dancing – it was truly a night to remember.
More importantly, the evening was a brilliant opportunity for parents to connect in a relaxed, joyful environment. Events like these remind us of the strong and vibrant community we have here at Woodend Primary School.
A huge thank you to our Trivia Master Roland for his creativity, organisation, and hard work in making the night such a success. Your efforts are truly appreciated by all of us.

PFA Fundraising Efforts
We are so incredibly grateful for all the support that families show throughout the year. We feel very lucky to be able to facilitate so many fun and memorable events for our beautiful school community, and none of it would be possible without your support. We put together a poster with all the fundraising events we facilitated in the 2024/2025 financial year, and the projects that your generous contributions supported. Take a look!
Mango Drive
The mango drive is coming soon! We will be sending out more information before the end of term 3, and mango’s will be delivered in term 4!
Pie Drive
Friday 15th August was a typical cold winter’s day in Woodend, so all the families that purchased pies from the fabulous Country Cob Bakery were set for the night! Thank you to all those that supported the PFA fundraiser, and we hope you enjoyed the delicious baked goods.
Carlsruhe Fair Coordinators
We are very pleased to let you know that we have not one but three wonderful parents who have put their hands up to co-coordinate the next Carlsruhe Fair!
Make sure it is already in your calendar: the Carlsruhe Fair will be happening on Saturday November 14th, 2026.
WPS Parents and Friends Association (PFA) Monthly Meeting
Calling all families - we would love to welcome you to our Parents and Friends group. We are a friendly bunch of parents who meet monthly to arrange school fundraising activities and social events.
Our next meeting is on Tuesday 2nd September at 7.30pm, at Holgates Brewery. Come along and help us plan some fantastic events for the rest of the 2025 school year. The only thing you need is a willingness to help out our school community.
