During Literacy sessions, we have continued our UFLI, handwriting and Guided Reading sessions. Students also studied two of the CBCA shortlisted books, which were ‘The Colour of Home’ which looked into the theme of what makes Australia so iconic and special, and ‘The Emperors Egg’, which is a Chinese folktale that looks into what makes a true hero.

In Maths, we have been focusing on addition and subtraction. Students have been continuing to expand their understanding of a variety of strategies to use when adding and subtracting numbers.

For Grammar, students have been expanding simple sentences and learning about conjunctions.

Over the past two weeks, students explored some of Australia's significant natural features. They learned about rivers and the Great Barrier Reef. Students learnt to locate these on a map of Australia and investigated their importance to plants, animals, and people. They also discussed ways to care for and protect these unique environments.

In Wellbeing, students developed their understanding of positive body language and how it can help others feel safe, included, and respected. They also explored strategies to build confidence, work as a team, and encourage one another during our production rehearsals. They learnt to recognise the importance of kindness, resilience, and respectful behaviour, aligning with our school values.
