Around Our Level
The Preps celebrated ‘100 Days of School’ on Monday, 27th July. Our students came dressed in costumes/outfits that represented the number 100, and there were some very creative ideas - you all looked amazing!

At assembly, the whole school cheered to celebrate the Preps' special day. We then paraded through each of the classrooms. Students brought in their special boxes with their party food and the classrooms were decorated with balloons, streamers and bunting, and were transformed with decorations with the number 100. In the afternoon, our students completed their ‘100 Days of School Booklets’, identifying the number 100, counting by 10’s to 100, colouring in our 100-counting chart in the classroom and playing partner games with a dice, called ‘Race to 100’. They also received a special ‘100 Days of School’ certificate to take home. The children had their photos taken for their ‘Memory Books’.

In Literacy, we have been learning about the sounds that 'x', 'qu', 'v', and 'z' make. We have been reading mentor texts to develop our reading comprehension skills, focussing on making connections and sequencing parts of the story into beginning, middle, and end of stories.
In Maths, we have been learning to recognise and write numerals and words to 20. We have also been using a number line to identify numbers that are more and less.

In Integrated Studies, we have been learning about the 3 different Australian flags. We coloured in the Australian flag and learned about the Union Jack, Federation Star, and Southern Cross. We looked at the Aboriginal flag and what the colours represent (black for the Indigenous people, yellow for the sun, and red for the earth).
Upcoming events include:
Winter Wonderland Disco at school

Performing at the George Wood stage for our whole school production of ‘Alice in Wonderland’.
