Big Experience trip with St Leonards

Jaydah Hood and Camille Ross took part in the 16-day Tiwi Islands and Litchfield Trek, an immersive adventure through Australia’s Top End. The students learnt on Country with Tiwi Traditional Owners, gaining firsthand insight into Indigenous culture, history and connection to land, before embarking on a five-day trek through the stunning landscapes of Litchfield National Park. The program also includes wildlife conservation volunteering, a cultural experience with Jawoyn Traditional Owners in Nitmiluk National Park, a gorge cruise and canoe journey, and opportunities for service learning. 

One special trip both students will remember.

GSV sports

This term, students have been participating in Term 3 GSV sports. We have had students participate in the following:

• Soccer
• Athletics 
• Football
• Basketball

We look forward to seeing how each student goes through the term.

Lexi and RJ – Marshmead 

Marshmead is Methodist Ladies’ College’s unique residential outdoor education campus, offering students the opportunity to learn beyond the classroom through hands-on experiences in environmental sustainability, agriculture, community living and personal development. Set on a working farm in East Gippsland, the program encourages students to build independence, resilience and teamwork while engaging in activities such as farming, land management, outdoor pursuits and service learning. Through immersive, real-world experiences, Marshmead helps students develop leadership skills, a strong sense of responsibility and a deeper connection to the natural environment.

Both Lexi and RJ are at Marshmead for Term 3 and will have their families visit them this weekend. Students have been writing letters, and we have been hearing updates from MLC about how they are going. 

We look forward to hearing all the stories when they return.
