Farewell Mr Richard Rogusz

This year we farewell Mr Richard Rogusz after an impactful 6 years as Deputy Principal – Identity and Religious Life of the College. In this time, Richard has been a deeply respected leader, teacher and colleague whose faith, wisdom and integrity have profoundly shaped the spiritual life of Mount Alvernia College. Throughout his time at the College, Richard has been a guiding presence, ensuring that the Franciscan values woven into the very fabric of our community life.
With a wealth of experience in Catholic education, Richard has been deeply committed to helping young women grow in faith and character. His vision of Catholic education is one of heart and purpose, inviting both staff and students to live their faith authentically through prayer, reflection, service and social justice. Under his leadership, our College’s liturgies, assemblies, reflection days and outreach programs have become moments of true encounter, uniting our community in meaning and spirit. We have been blessed. The intellectual wisdom Richard has brought to our Franciscan formation is also a highlight staff will remember.
A gifted communicator and compassionate mentor, Mr Rogusz has guided staff and students alike with humility, respect and a genuine sense of care. His belief in service, connection and reconciliation has fostered a culture of trust and shared purpose. Through his clear and thoughtful leadership and his genuine commitment to those in need and to the world in which we live, the service and faith formation opportunities have flourished. Richard’s influence has extended beyond the College gates through his partnerships with key Catholic organisations and his work to strengthen the College’s strategic and service mission. His leadership has ensured that our Franciscan identity remains vibrant and relevant for all us students and staff, encouraging us to make a positive difference in the world.
We thank Richard sincerely for his outstanding service, steadfast faith and his generous spirit. We wish him every blessing and happiness as he begins this new chapter. You will be missed.
