Well, here we are! We’ve arrived at the end of our 2025 academic year at Mt A! What a year it has been. To all our Year 7 students and families, we hope this year has been filled with triumphs, opportunities, lasting memories, and valuable learnings.
To the families and students in other year levels who joined us for the first time this year, we hope you now feel settled and embraced by the strong sense of belonging we strive to create for every student at Mt A.
This year of Joy has given us so much to celebrate, and I have been so proud to witness it all. Yesterday, at our Christmas Liturgy, it was beautiful to gather as a community to celebrate 2025. Even more exciting, we announced the name of our new building.
In the 800th year of the Canticle of the Creatures, we found it fitting to name our forthcoming building ‘The Canticle.’
Please note that there will be some adjustments made to some of our programs, access and movement around the campus due to the construction. A scaled-down library has been established for our students and staff to access and use in the Delamore/Professional Learning Centre for the duration of 2026.
Further details will be available to all families at the beginning of the year, once we have further information around precise timelines in relation to the schedule of work. The College is excited to be partnering with Hutchinson Builders for this exciting project.
This four-story building, designed with Country, curiosity, collaboration, and connection in mind will break ground in December. We invite you to learn more about this project in the document below and stay tuned for a fly-through of the building in the new year!
As we look forward to 2026, our Year of Courage, let us carry the lessons of our Year of Joy with us. I am so proud of all that our community has shared this year. Thank you for the part you have played in it. Please enjoy the video we posted across social media,“My Favourite Mt A Moment of 2025,”to hear the favourite moments of so many of our staff and students.
Wishing you and your families a restful and joyous holiday season, filled with the Franciscan spirit of joy and service.
