Holloway Road Campus Exams 10 -11
From Friday 10th November, all students in years 10 to 11 will sit some form of internally assessed examination at the end of semester two.
At the Holloway Road Campus, exams will take place as follows:
Year 10 – exams in English and Maths and any Unit 1 and 2 subjects students undertake will take place in the Hall following an examination schedule in a formal process.
Year 10 students will also take a practice GAT part A and Part B.
Year 11 – Exams will take place in all Unit 1 and 2 Subjects in the Hall following an examination schedule and a formal process.
Note that VCE-VM students will only have the GAT Part A on Tuesday 14th November and with no other formal exams throughout the week.
Student examinations will appear on their Compass schedule.
All students in year 10 will also undertake our annual PAT testing throughout the exam week. This testing helps us further assess student growth, gaps in student learning, and any need to review curriculum and assessment practices. PAT testing times and days for each year level will appear on the student's timetable.
The General Achievement Test (GAT) is a pen-and-paper test of general knowledge and skills taken by students in the course of completing their senior secondary studies.
The GAT plays an important role in the quality assurance of VCE assessments and also provides students with an opportunity to demonstrate they meet the Victorian Literacy and Numeracy Standards expected at a senior secondary level.
No special study is needed. Past study of subjects like English, Mathematics, Science, and History prepares students for the GAT by building their general knowledge and skills in writing, numeracy, and reasoning.)
In preparation for this reintroduction of examinations, students will be provided with revision in classes. Year 10 and 11 students will only need to attend school for all scheduled exams and PAT testing.
