Located in the Library at the Holloway Road campus, the Careers Room is open every lunchtime. Students are welcome to come around and browse resources, ask questions, or book an interview with Deb Hanlen (Year 11 & 12) or Lynne Laursen (9 & 10).

Year 12

During November information will be sent home with advice on how to navigate the change of preference timeline. After students recieve thier ATAR they have a 2 day window in which to change their course preferences before the first round of offers. Information on the January and February offer rounds can be found at the following link.

Students will also be provided with a full list of university contacts and services for the change of preference period. I will be also available during this time to offer support and advice on processes and courses.

 

I would like to remind all students that to access their results online they will need to register with the Results and ATAR service.

Year 11

Any Year 11 student that completed a Unit 3/4 subject this year will also need to register with the Results and ATAR service to obtain their study score. Please check your email for detailed instructions.

 

 

Years 9 and 10

Year 9 Morrisby Catch-up profiling and interviews are this term. This is the last opportunity for students to complete this valued program.  Applicable students and parents will be notified of these final dates.

 

Current Year 9 students will be introduced to the Work Experience program which they will undertake in 2024 as year 10 students. There will be a session of introductory questions, answers and information at the Bluff Road Campus in late November. A second session will be held in Headstart at the Holloway Road Campus for students to complete the compulsory Occupational Health and Safety modules required for Work Experience.

 

Current Year 10 students are strongly encouraged to drop in or make an appointment for career / pathways guidance or information. Our door is always open!

 

The University of Melbourne has the Kwong Lee Dow Young Scholars Program for year 10 students to apply for now to participate in enrichment opportunities and exclusive experiences with the university.  Students were selected from the top 5 - 10% of academic achievers at Sandingham College to apply for the program.  To date, we are currently awaiting to hear about successful applicants for this highly sought after program at The University of Melbourne. This program is offered to year 10 students in addition to the Monash Scholars Program at Monash University of which Sandringham College has four successful year 10 applicants and one year 11 applicant.
