Equal Opportunity Day - Girls AFL
On Tuesday 31st October our Sports Academy athletes spent a full day together at Ballam Park in Frankston. Ballam Park has a purpose built outdoor parkour course mixed around the children's playground.
We employed Risky Kids to run four sessions to take our athlethes through how to do moves and tricks in parkour and free running. Sandringham College students learnt how to climb, fall, rotate, jump and stunt on the ground and obstacles. Risky Kids specialise in training children and young adults to challenge their physical fears while also encompassing positive mindset and resilience. They have parkour and ninja warrior studios in Frankston, Berwick, Maroonda and Albury.
Sandringham College studens have been busy this term at State Track and Field events. We have had many students represent the college at both SSV finals and Athletics Victoria All Schools Championships.
Sandringham College has been lucky enough to be award another Sporting Schools Grant for 2023. These funds were used to purchase the college $2500.00 worth of volleyball equipment. We have purchased an antenna for our new HPC courts, various types of balls, teaching resources, an outdoor volleyball net and Mr. McInerney is now a level 1 volleyball coach. We are grateful for these funds and look forward to using all the new equipment in our new HPC stadium in 2024.
