VTAC stands for the Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre

VTAC is the central organisation that processes applications for most tertiary courses in Victoria, including:

  • University degrees
  • TAFE courses
  • Some independent tertiary colleges.

What does VTAC do?

VTAC allows students to:

  • Apply for multiple courses using one application.
  • List courses in order of preference.
  • Receive and manage course offers.
  • Apply for special consideration programs such as the Special Entry Access Scheme (SEAS)
  • Apply for scholarships offered through VTAC.

For Victorian secondary students, VTAC is the main pathway between school and further education.

Year 12 students can create a VTAC account now and register their contact details.

This will allow students to obtain a VTAC ID and help them to stay informed over the course of the year with advice, as well as prompts from VTAC when areas of the application become available.

Early Entry Programs allow Year 12 students to apply for and potentially receive a conditional university offer before their final ATAR or study scores are released. Rather than relying solely on academic results, universities may consider factors such as school recommendations, personal statements, community involvement, leadership, work experience, or demonstrated commitment to study.
