Little Learners

Over the past fortnight, our little learners have continued to explore The Very Hungry Caterpillar through a variety of hands-on literacy and numeracy activities. The children have enjoyed listening to and retelling the story, practising writing their names, colouring, threading together with lots of sensory play experiences, mainly painting which I am not sure Miss O’sullivan is overly joyed about!! (too much mess) all while developing important fine motor skills and their pencil grip.

Play-based learning has continued to be a big focus in our learning space. The children have loved exploring puzzles, playdough, Lego and construction activities, helping to build creativity, problem-solving skills and social confidence. We have also been strengthening gross motor skills through movement games and outdoor play, while continuing to enjoy special reading time with our senior student buddies.
