From the Principal's Desk

As we move through another busy and productive fortnight at All Saints’, I would like to take this opportunity to thank our students, staff and families for their continued support and commitment to our school community. There is always so much happening across the school, and it has been wonderful to see students engaging so positively in their learning and extracurricular opportunities.
Yesterday, our Stage 3 students proudly presented their assembly item, showcasing a fantastic collection of their learning through the medium of a podcast. The presentation highlighted not only the depth of student learning, but also the creativity, confidence and collaboration that our students continue to develop. It was wonderful to see students speaking so articulately and confidently in front of the school community, and I congratulate both the students and staff involved for producing such an engaging and innovative showcase.
As we approach the midpoint of the term, our teachers are also working diligently behind the scenes, preparing student reports. Report writing is a significant undertaking, and staff are spending considerable time reflecting on student growth, achievement and progress across all learning areas. These reports provide valuable insight into each child’s learning journey and are an important part of our partnership with families in supporting student success.
I would also like to remind families that next Friday will be a Pupil Free Day for students as staff participate in the All Saints’ Staff Spirituality Day. This day provides our staff with an important opportunity for reflection, formation and renewal as we continue to strengthen the Catholic identity and mission of our school. We thank families for their support and understanding regarding this pupil-free day.
Over recent weeks, we have also been reviewing playground expectations surrounding handball. While handball is a game enjoyed by many of our students, we have identified that there has been an increasing number of disagreements and conflicts arising from gameplay. As a result, handball will be paused for the next couple of weeks while we work with students to explicitly teach game expectations, sportsmanship and conflict resolution strategies.
Following this break, we will launch the inaugural All Saints’ Handball Competition, which will be refereed by teachers and senior students. The purpose of this initiative is not only to reintroduce the game in a positive and structured way, but also to help students develop a stronger understanding of the rules, learn how to self-umpire fairly and build respectful ways of resolving disagreements independently. We are hopeful that this approach will allow students to continue enjoying the game while also fostering resilience, fairness and positive peer interactions.
Thank you, as always, for your ongoing support of our wonderful school community.
God Bless,
Daniel Francis
Principal
