Dear Parents and Caregivers
Home School Partnerships
Thank you to all our parents and caregivers for your support in ensuring that you have kept up with communications, supporting your child/ren and the SHCPS staff as we work together to support your child/ren's learning journey. In promoting our home/school partnership even further, please do not hesitate to make contact with your child/ren's classroom teacher to make an appointment to discuss how your child/ren is/are progressing. Thanks for getting back to teachers when they reach out as well!
School Attendance
A reminder that a clear pre-requisite for school success is student attendance. It is important for students to be in attendance at school each day, making the most of their opportunities. There is a very strong correlation between school attendance and improved student outcomes. Thank you for your assistance in ensuring your child/ren are in regular attendance, supporting their learning journey. If you are requiring assistants with school attendance for your child/ren, please do not hesitate to make contact with your child/ren's classroom teacher. It is acknowledged that there are times throughout the year where illness and appointments require absence from school, and it is important that if students are unwell that they stay home and recover.
Sacrament of Eucharist
Congratulations to all our students and children in the Parish who received the Sacrament of Eucharist for the first time last weekend and this coming weekend at St Helena of the Holy Cross Church. Thank you to Ms Kristy-Lee Parker and Miss Meadbh O'Connor for preparing the students and to Miss Mel Myles for assisting the Parish with the Sacrament.
LifeLink Mass
Today Oliver, Annika and Mina from Year Six travelled to Corpus Christi College with Mr G and Miss Myles to represent St Helena’s Catholic Primary School for the Archbishop’s launch of LifeLink 2026.
All welcome to join us in celebrating our LifeLink Mass on Tuesday 16 June at 11:15am in the Undercover Area.
Vinnies Winter Appeal
Thanks in advance to all our families who will be sending in donations for our Vinnies Winter Appeal. Your generosity is very much appreciated! Thanks to the Mini Vinnies Team for coordinating and promoting. We want to always strive to do Something Beautiful for God.
Seasons for Growth
It is great to be offering the Seasons for Growth program again at St Helena's Catholic Primary School. Small groups of children work with a trained adult companion (facilitator) who supports the children in learning new ways to share, think about and respond to the changes and losses in their lives. Parents/Caregivers were given the opportunity to nominate their child to be a part of the program that will commence shortly. Thank you to our awesome Social Worker, Mrs Elise Johnson, for facilitating this program and making it available to our students.
P&F Funding & Upcoming Disco
Thank you to the P&F for your contribution in purchasing new resources across the school, with new play equipment in the Kindy and Pre-Primary, new playground equipment in the Year 1 and Year 2 area and the new water fountains to be installed in the Year 1/2 area and Year 3 to Year 6 areas over the holdiays. Looking forward to the up and coming P&F Disco towards the end of term. Have you offered to volunteer? Find out more about ticket sales and how you can volunteer in the P&F section of the newsletter.
Pre-Kindergarten - Little Adventurers 2026
From the commencement of Term 3, Little Adventurers will be on a Tuesday and Wednesday.
Our Wednesday class has very limited positions, however, we have a few spots left in the Tuesday class if any of our families are interested.
Cross Country
Looking forward to our Cross Country next Friday 19 June. Thanks in advance Mr McCormack for preparing the students and your planning for the day. Please refer to communication being sent out this week in regards to the day's events.
At St Helena's, we are a Christ-centred and a child-focused community,
always striving to do Something Beautiful for God.
Peace & Happy Days!
