Principal Report

Welcome to Term 4, everyone!

This time of the year is a balance of change and continuity. From the clocks shifting and waking up in darkness, to enjoying longer, lighter evenings and more time together.

We also feel the continuity of the year gradually coming to an end. Although it’s a little scary to think how quickly the year has gone, it’s lovely to see the blossoms begin to bloom and know that spring is here. I must admit, this is one of my favourite times of year (apart from the swooping!).

Our students are ready for a wonderful term of learning. They have worked hard for three quarters of the year and are ready for the final push. We have amazing learning planned for the last three months to really extend our learners.

To our parents and carers, please know that every lunch and snack you make, every bedtime, every early get‑up, every time you listen to a reading book or play a maths game — it all adds up and helps your child achieve their best. We know it’s not easy, and by December we’ll all need a bit of encouragement, but we truly appreciate you and everything you do.

Huge thanks to all our families who chose to share information to help us plan for 2027. It was lovely to read about your children, to understand what has helped them do well this year, and what will support them to continue thriving next year. We really appreciate you taking the time to share with us, and to support us as we support your children.

We also know that Term 4 brings lots of changes, and we support everyone in our community to manage them. We will be running transition programs for our Kinder children who will be Preps next year; for our Year 6s who will be heading to Year 7; and for all students moving up a year level. It’s important for students to understand new expectations and how to get to know new classmates and a new teacher. We know students like to have someone familiar in their new class, and we also want to teach the very important skill of making new friendships.

So, let’s have an amazing final term of the year. In December, we want to be able to look back and say:

  • We were at school every day and on time.
  • We did our best learning.
  • We made precious memories from all the great experiences we shared with our friends.
