Year 1 & 2
Around our level
We have continued to conduct UFLI and Guided Reading during our Literacy sessions. We have also commenced an author study, looking into books written by Bob Graham, and using them as mentor texts to provide stimulus for our Writing sessions.

During Maths lessons, students have been learning about fractions of a whole, including halves, quarters and eighths. Students have explored their place value knowledge working with number lines.

In Integrated Studies, students revisited History and explored how they can learn about the past by looking at old photographs and comparing objects from the past and present. They also investigated the differences between urban, rural and remote communities across Australia. The students discussed how people’s lives and experiences can vary depending on where they live.

In Wellbeing, students continued developing their understanding of positive friendships through the Friendology program. They explored the importance of forgiveness when friends make mistakes and discussed how focusing on the positive qualities of others can strengthen their friendships. Students also reflected on displaying gratitude and the importance of appreciating people who make their lives special.
