Principal's Message

Welcome to Term 4!

It’s lovely to have everyone back at Yarra Road for the start of another term! We hope our families enjoyed the break and had some time to relax and recharge during the holidays.

Term 4 is always a special time in the school calendar, with plenty of exciting experiences for our students to enjoy. Our Year 1 Movie Night and Year 2 Sleepover are just around the corner, and we will also be celebrating a significant milestone for our Year 6 students as they prepare to graduate from primary school and take their next steps into secondary education. There is plenty to look forward to as we make the most of 2026.

Planning for 2027 Classes

Behind the scenes, preparations are beginning for the 2027 school year, including the process of organising student classes. We want to ensure that each child is placed in an environment where they can feel comfortable, build positive relationships and thrive in their learning.

We understand that families may have information about their child that could assist us with this process. If there are any particular circumstances you would like us to know about, such as health needs, learning requirements, social considerations or changes in family circumstances, please email yarra.road.ps@education.vic.gov.au.

While we welcome information from families, we are unable to accommodate requests for specific teachers. Class arrangements and teacher allocations are still being finalised, and all placements will be carefully considered as part of the planning process.

Please send any relevant information by Tuesday, 10th November. You will receive an email confirming that your message has been received. If you have not received a reply within three business days, please contact the school office.

Thank you for helping us get to know and support our students as we plan for the year ahead. We appreciate your understanding as we work towards creating positive and supportive classrooms for all students in 2027.

School Changes for 2027

If your family is planning a move or your child will not be returning to Yarra Road in 2027 for any reason, please let the school office know as early as possible. This information will assist us with planning and organising classes for the year ahead. Thank you for keeping us informed.
