School Captains Report

By Rose, Amira, Francesca and Adrian

Clean up Australia Day

On Monday the leaders went to ‘The Grove’ kindergarten to read story books and help the children to learn how to respect our environment and not litter. The children were very enthusiastic and excited to work with us and clean up the community neighbourhood. They were really good at spotting rubbish and loved listening to stories about how to treat God’s creation well.  It was a really exciting adventure!

St Patrick’s Cathedral

Last Friday all of the student leaders set out on an adventure to St Patrick’s Cathedral in the city. Hugo and Rose carried the banner in the procession. There were over one hundred schools there. The orchestra and bagpipes were very engaging. Archbishop Peter Comensoli was the celebrant of the Mass. Afterwards we had a fun time at Treasury Gardens and watched school  bands and played games. Thank you to Ms Lesa, Mrs Di Noto  and Ms Michelle for taking the leaders.

Arrival at school

A reminder to all of the children and parents to make sure to drop off your kids to school between 8.30am and 8.50am because there is no teacher supervision before these times.

Sports Day

We are extremely excited to report that next Wednesday we have our Sports Day. Students will be earning points for their house colour. We are looking forward to seeing everyone dressed in their house colours. A reminder to make sure students wear clothes that are appropriate for a sports day.  Coloured hair spray, hair chalk, coloured zinc and coloured accessories are allowed.

Ride to School Day Winner

Congratulations to Darrang (Green House) who had the most children ride, scoot or walk to school last Friday. They will receive a casual clothes day on the last day of Term 1.
