Learning and Teaching - Ms Bridget Morris

It has been a busy and exciting time across the school, with so much wonderful learning and growth taking place. For the first time, our school is participating in the Victorian Premier’s Reading Challenge (VPRC), and it has been fantastic to see so many students already diving into books and logging their reading. The excitement has been truly joyful to witness, and it’s a powerful reminder of the importance of fostering a genuine love of reading.

Our School Leaders have also been outstanding role models in the community. Alongside staff, they recently took part in a belated Clean Up Australia activity in partnership with The Grove Children’s Centre. Working together with the kindergarten children, they helped tidy our local area before sharing stories about the importance of caring for our environment. I was incredibly proud of the way our leaders encouraged the younger students and represented our school with such responsibility and maturity.

We also congratulate our Year 3 and 5 students on completing NAPLAN. They demonstrated many of our key learner dispositions throughout the process, including persistence, curiosity, risk-taking and self-direction. These qualities support lifelong learning, and it was wonderful to see them on display.
