Catholic Education Week

15-22 March 2026

Catholic Education Week was celebrated in Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Melbourne from 15-22 March 2026. This annual event is held to promote the special ethos of Catholic schools and to highlight the great things that take place in Catholic schools everyday.

The theme for this year’s celebrations is,

“Christ beside me: Walking in the footsteps of Saint Patrick”.

This year’s theme celebrates the significance of Saint Patrick, the patron saint of our local Church in Melbourne. Saint Patrick’s Cathedral, our mother Church, is named after the saint of Ireland.

Last Friday, the school leaders, Ms Michelle, Mrs Di Noto, and I travelled to St Patrick’s Cathedral to take part in the annual Mass of St Patrick for Schools to celebrate Catholic Education Week.

The cathedral was so full that we even had to sit on the floor! More than 300 Catholic schools from the Archdiocese of Melbourne were represented, as well as representatives from Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools and the State Government.

We participated in a beautiful Mass, with music led by a choir from Avila College.

Afterwards, we enjoyed some time together in the park. The student leaders’ behaviour was exceptional, and we were incredibly proud of the way they conducted themselves throughout the day. They interacted confidently with students from other schools and even invited others to join them for a game of soccer. This was a wonderful example of our school motto in action — Love Serves.

Special thanks to Ms Michelle who came with us, took photos, and made sure we all stayed together!

Class Masses

Thank you to the parents who have attended our class Masses. The students have written and read the Prayers of the Faithful, and Father Leo has been very impressed by how thoughtful and reverent they are.

For parents with children in Year 1/2L, please note that the class Mass will be held on Thursday, 26th March instead of Friday, as it clashes with our Student Learning in Action sessions.

Our Prep students are eagerly awaiting their turn to participate in a class Mass, which will take place early next term.

Holy Week Liturgy

The students are beginning to learn about and reflect upon the ‘Events of Holy Week’. Each year level will reflect on one event and reenact the event at a paraliturgy which will be on Monday the 30th of March at 2.30pm in the Hall. Please put the date in your diaries, as you are warmly invited to attend.
