Health and Wellbeing Promotion

WPSC Wellbeing Team

This term the wellbeing team have been busy with school wide support and interactions with students.  In addition to the social and emotional counselling support we offer our students, we aim to identify more complex concerns and intervene early.  We support students and their families to access help and appropriate clinical supports in the community.

The Wellbeing Team, in collaboration with the local Western Port Hastings Rotary Club, is proud to have erected a Peace Pole at Western Port Secondary College. This Peace Pole stands as a unique symbol of our commitment to fostering peace, unity, and a sense of purpose within our school and broader community.

Bearing the message "May Peace Prevail on Earth," it reflects our belief that everyone should not only feel welcome but also find their place and purpose in the world. This initiative is a reminder of the values we share and the importance of peace in building a thriving community.

RUOK DAY

During Term 4 the College celebrated RUOK Day alongside Footy Colours Day! Students and staff were treated to a free BBQ from Hastings Rotary Club and games/activities from Hastings Headspace. A fantastic event led by Cathy Griffin our College Nurse and our Respect CARE Captains.

BREAKFAST CLUB

Finally, we continue to have our Breakfast Club each Thursday morning – run in collaboration with our local church volunteers and wellbeing staff.  Breakfast is available from K2 from 8:15am onwards. All students are welcome to come and enjoy some yummy hot food! Egg and bacon muffins, toasties, pancakes and milo.
