Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Update

Assistant Principal Update

Acting Assistant Principal: Curriculum (Years 7 - 10)

As we approach the end of Term 3, both students and staff have been hard at work, making the most of the second half of this busy and productive term. There’s been a strong focus on student progress and assessment, and we’re excited to share some important updates with you.

Progress Reports and Term 3 Assessments

Progress reports for Term 3, Week 10 were released on Monday, 16th of September. These reports provide valuable insights for parents, carers, and students, offering a clear snapshot of student performance. In addition to the regular 5-weekly progress updates, this release also includes Summative Assessment results for Term 3. These assessments offer a comprehensive view of how students have performed across their subjects from Years 7 to 10, with results presented as Victorian Curriculum progression points for each subject.

We encourage all parents, carers, and students to review these reports to understand each student's achievements and areas for improvement. This is a vital tool for tracking learning progress and setting goals for Term 4.

Feedback Week – Week 10

Week 10 is designated as Feedback Week at the college, an important time for students to reflect on their Term 3 assessments. Accessing feedback on summative assessments allows students to understand their learning progress and identify key areas where they can improve. We believe that regular feedback plays a critical role in helping students take ownership of their learning journey and develop strategies for future success.

Conferences (Parent/Teacher Interviews) – Hybrid Approach

We would like to extend our thanks to all families, including parents and carers, for booking in for Parent-Teacher Conferences. This term, we’ve adopted a hybrid approach to cater to different preferences. On Wednesday, we held on-site, face-to-face conferences with 10-minute time slots available for each staff member. We were also pleased to offer a complimentary BBQ from 4 pm to 6 pm, with activities provided for children during this time.

For those who preferred an online option, Thursday, 19th September was online conferences via Microsoft Teams, with 15-minute time slots available.

We look forward to seeing you at the conferences and appreciate your continued involvement in your child's learning. Your participation and support are key to their ongoing success.
