Mock Trials

Congratulations to the Loreto Mock Trial Team of 2024!

A group of students in Year 10 and 11 are participating in the Law Society of SA Mock Trial Competition. The Loreto team (Prosecution) won its first case against Adelaide Botanic High School (Defence) in a criminal trespass case. The Loreto team members were praised by the trial judge for their astute legal reasoning, preparedness of witnesses and solicitors, and skillful cross examination by barristers.

The Loreto Mock Trial team will face its next case in Round 2 at the District Court of SA on Tuesday 2 April 2024. Good luck Loreto Legal Eagles!

Teen Parliament 2024 - Loreto Represents

Congratulations to Amelia Boulden, Year 12 for representing Loreto College, Marryatville in Teen Parliament 2024. Amelia was featured in the Advertiser earlier this week as one of the 31 students to speak at Parliament House.

Amelia will attend The House of Assembly at Parliament House as an MP. The Speaker, The Honourable Dan Cregan will preside over the parliament so that all MPs can share their ideas. Amelia will be discussing 'the gender pay gap' in her speech, which is fitting as a topic in this years International Women's Day, falling on the same day.

Winners of the Teen Parliament Scholarship will be notified in the week following the parliament and winners will be invited to The Advertiser's Building a Bigger Better South Australia lunch event in the ballroom at Sky City to receive the scholarship and to meet Premier Peter Malinauskas. A fantastic opportunity for Amelia.
