Society and Culture Excursion – Qtopia and the State Library
Year 11 students attended an excursion to the city on Tuesday August 26 to visit Qtopia and the State Library.
In Term 2, students were learning about the topic ‘Personal and Social Identity.’
Part of this study focused on how identity can impact the various levels of society. At Qtopia, students learned about various case studies that changed the way identity was accepted in Australia.
After lunch, students visited the historic State Library in preparation for future visits for their HSC course. All students went on a scavenger hunt around the library to see where they can access and conduct primary and secondary research.
Students loved interacting with guest speakers, hearing about grassroots activism and most importantly, understanding how one person can make a difference.
