Book Week 2025

Each year, Book Week invites us to pause, reflect, and celebrate the power of stories to shape minds, spark imagination, and connect us across time and place.

In 2025, the theme “Reading Takes You Places” couldn’t be more fitting because books are your passport to adventure beyond the classroom.

Established in 1945 by the Children’s Book Council of Australia (CBCA), Book Week is a tradition that highlights the best in Australian literature. The CBCA Book of the Year Awards also shine a spotlight on outstanding authors and illustrators who inspire young readers.

This year, our Senior Campus Library is embracing the spirit of exploration with a Travel Quiz Challenge. Test your knowledge of geography, culture, and adventure by completing our interactive quiz. Once you've completed the quiz, visit the Library circulation desk to collect your prize. It’s our Library staff's way of saying thank you for being part of the Book Week celebration and for keeping the joy of reading alive.

Amongst all of the distractions, reading remains one of the most powerful tools for empathy, creativity, and lifelong learning. Book Week reminds us that stories are not just entertainment, they are bridges to understanding and catalysts for change in every stage of life. We encourage our community to get lost in a good book, find ourselves in a new perspective, and remember that every page turned is a step toward somewhere extraordinary. Broaden your horizons these September school holidays and borrow a book.
