Year 3 & 4
Around our level
This term we have started Year 3/4 Sport on Thursday afternoons. We chose 2 sports to begin with, Kickball and Volleybounce. It was a lovely afternoon on the oval for Wilson and Turner as they competed in Kickball. Wilson won the round, but Turner received the Sportsmanship award. For Volleybounce, Gatter took the points over Power.

During our Reading lessons, we have been focussing on ‘thin’ and ‘thick’ questions. Asking ourselves questions as we read, helps us to develop a greater understanding of the text. ‘Thin’ questions help us to find answers that are easy to find in the text, whilst ‘thick’ questions need students to think a little deeper about the text.
In our Maths lessons, we have been looking at decimals, including tenths and hundredths. This led us to look at money, revising coins and notes. We had lots of fun looking at catalogs and deciding what we might buy if we were making breakfast for Mother’s Day.

ANZAC Day was on the 25th of April, and we spent time looking at what it means and why it is so important that we continue to recognise this day. Students participated in a whole school assembly on Friday and showed respect during our minute silence.

Students are nominated by their teachers to receive a certificate of acknowledgment. The below students' certificates will be presented at our next assembly.
3/4A - Mr Franklin
Patrick S

3/4B - Mrs Pfander & Mr Smith
