Year 7 2026
A New Chapter Begins

Katie Simkin & Ruby Jenkins
Year 7 Coordinators
In the first few weeks of term, we’ve seen our Year 7 cohort transform from nervous but excited students who arrived on Day 1, to a group of confident and engaged members of our school community.

The Middle School team have noticed a really positive buzz amongst the year level. Students have demonstrated high levels of organisation skills, both in the locker bay and within the classrooms. All of the cohort are wearing their uniform well - looking schmick! - and it is clear that the students have been building strong, positive connections among their group.
The students have had a busy term so far, attending their first BSC Swimming Carnival as well as a Digital Thumbprint cyber safety incursion, and there are more events to come later in the term. Click on the photos to enlarge them.

It has been amazing to see the students engage with all areas of the school community. We are looking forward to the annual Year 7 camp at the end of this term, and to see what other fantastic things the cohort achieve in 2026.
We asked some members of the cohort what their stand out moments at BSC have been so far:

Amy Di Gennaro
I’ve really enjoyed making new friends. I had a lot of fun at the swimming carnival and am really excited about going on camp at the end of the term.

Ned Hicks
I got 100% on my Italian test! I have enjoyed meeting new people from different primary schools.

Olive Owczarek
The swimming races at swimming carnival were really fun and I’ve enjoyed making friends with new people in my class.

Lachy Theaker
I’ve made quite a few new friends and have found that everyone at BSC is really welcoming and kind!
