Sharing student photos or images on social media

Families are reminded to please avoid sharing photos or names of students other than your own child/ren on social media unless you have explicit consent from their parents and carers.

For example, if you take a group photo of your child/ren's sporting team at their game, please check with all parents and carers before posting it publicly. Some families choose not to have their child/ren appear on social media and may not be comfortable with their image being shared.

At St Mary's College, each student's photo permissions are provided by parents and carers during the enrolment process and are specific to their individual needs.

We ask all parents and carers to be mindful of these privacy requirements and to refrain from posting photos, images or names of other students or individuals. Thank you for your ongoing support.

2026 Student Residential Address Collection

The Australian Government Department of Education has asked all schools to provide basic residential address detail and other required information for every enrolled student.

Schools are required to share this information under the Australian Education Regulations 2023. The data helps the government ensure fair and accurate school funding across Australia.

No action is needed from families at this stage – this is simply to keep you informed about the upcoming collection.

Please refer to the letter attached here for more information.

StoryBox app

We are delighted to let you know that StoryBox is now available for your child to enjoy at home, free of charge, through our school's subscription.

StoryBox is a digital library designed to inspire reading in children of all ages. Students can watch their favourite books come to life, read aloud by engaging storytellers, both in the classroom and at home.

Listening to stories read aloud by diverse and expressive narrators supports the development of strong language and literacy skills, particularly in the Early Years. It also offers a guided way for children to use screen time while continuing to build their reading confidence.

We hope your family enjoys exploring StoryBox as your child discovers new stories and reads outside the box.
