Welcome back
The new school year has begun with wonderful energy, and it has been inspiring to see students, staff and families settling so positively into routines. As a community, we are already witnessing moments of kindness, collaboration and enthusiasm for learning –
an encouraging sign of the year ahead.

We also enter this season mindful of the significance of Lent. This is a time for reflection, renewal and growth as we prepare our hearts for Easter. Throughout the coming weeks, our students will engage in prayer, acts of service and classroom discussions that help them understand the meaning of Lent and the values of compassion, simplicity and hope that it calls us to live out. We encourage families to journey with us, taking time for quiet reflection and small acts of generosity at home. Together, we look forward to a year filled with learning, faith and meaningful connection.
Belling In ceremony
Our Belling In of new students and staff took place this morning, and it was wonderful to welcome them into our school community. The event was filled with excitement, and it was especially heart‑warming to see the many smiling faces as students participated. A highlight was the beautiful connection between our Kinder and senior students, who showed great care and encouragement. Moments like these remind us of the strength of our community and the importance of supporting one another.

Punctuality and uniform reminder
Please ensure students arrive before the morning bell at 8.30am so they can begin the day calm and prepared. Being on time supports positive routines and learning success. Students in Years 3–12 must wear the correct uniform, including the blazer, to and from school on formal uniform days, along with appropriate hair ties and jewellery, as outlined in the diary. Thank you for supporting student success.
Parking and safety reminder
To support the safety of all students, families are reminded to follow our school’s parking guidelines at all times. Please be mindful of the no-standing zones on Brisbane Street, as stopping in these areas creates congestion and unsafe conditions for pedestrians.

For drop-off and pick-up, we ask that families use the Harrington Street Hug and Go only, keeping traffic flowing smoothly by not parking or waiting in this zone. Additionally, the bus zone must remain clear at all times – please do not stop or wait there, even briefly. Your cooperation helps ensure a safe and efficient environment for our whole community.
Welcome Families BBQ
We were delighted to welcome such a strong turnout of new and returning families at our recent Welcome Families BBQ on the College Green. It was wonderful to see so many friendly faces from across our SMC community coming together, sharing conversations, reconnecting and forming new connections that set the tone for a warm and vibrant year ahead. Thank you to everyone who joined us on Thursday 19 February. We look forward to sharing more community events with you throughout 2026.
