Student Achievements

Congratulations to the following students:
Eva Johnston (Year 7), who has been selected for the Tasmanian Water Polo State team, earning the opportunity to travel to Brisbane in April for the national championships. Eva's dedication and performance at this level are outstanding, and we’re incredibly proud of her achievements. We can’t wait to cheer her on as she represents Tasmania on the national stage!
Rita Van Loon and Charlotte Kremerskothen (Year 6), who competed in the Surf Life Saving Tasmania Junior State Championships 2025/26 in Burnie over the weekend of 28 February to 1 March. Their hard work at training paid off, returning home with an impressive haul of hardware with silver in the Surf Swim team event and gold in the Beach Relay.
The success of our students contributed to a victory for their home club, Clifton Beach Surf Lifesaving Club, which was crowned the overall carnival winner. It is fantastic to see our students excelling in such a demanding sport that combines athletic skill with vital water safety. Congratulations to Rita and Charlotte on their achievements and to other SMC Nippers who have had an incredible season developing their skills and having lots of fun!
Brigitte Gravell (Year 5) and Chloe Taylor (Year 4), who recently attended the Australian Classical Challenge in Newcastle, NSW for classical ballet and contemporary dance. Both students had a wonderful time competing in masterclasses and performances in classical and contemporary sections. Brigitte was awarded the Junior Masterclass Award, and Chloe was selected as a semi-finalist in both the Junior Classical and Junior Contemporary performance sections. What amazing achievements!
We love celebrating the achievements of our students! Share your stories and photos with us at stmarys@smc.tas.edu.au, and your child’s success will be featured in an upcoming edition of The Fountain newsletter.
