Will Play in 2025 Victorian Country Championships
Congratulations to Year 9 Isabelle Christison, who has been selected to the elite Albury-Wodonga Football Association Under 16 Girls representative team for 2025.
The 15-year old Wangaratta City FCplayer and our 2023 Athletics Age Group Champion and who just returned from 10 days at the Mittagundi Outdoor Camp, is one of 17 girls picked from the 12 teams in the league, who will play in the 2025 CLFA Victorian Country Championships.
It’s an impressive achievement for Isabelle, as she missed the entire 2024 Soccer season due to living most of the year in Canada, where in July she(Under 15) and sister Claire (Under 17) both won Provincial (State) Championships playing for the Nelson Selects in British Columbia.
In 2024 we had 4 Rep players at the Country Championships in Mildura in June. Year 8s Inanay Gilson and Ruby O’Kane (Under 14 Girls), and Year 10 Emilio Miliankos-King (Under 16 Boys) all won Titles. Year 7 Zak Winn was in the Under 13 Boys team - the 3rd Rep team he has made, having twice made it while in Primary School (Under 11 Boys in 2022 and Under 12 in 2023). This was the largest number of Rep players we've had in the same year on record (which go back to 2018)..
There must be something in the water up in Whitfield. Christison, Miliankos-King, Gilson and O'Kane all attended Whitfield District Primary School together - a school of less than 40 students!
Our current crop, with our other previous Rep Player in Year 12 Kalika Miliankos-King (Under 16 Girls in 2022 and Under 14 in 2019), continue a long line of W.H.S Soccer players to excel in the sport, including Aime Delahaye who made the Under 18 Australian Girls Soccer team in 2012.
