Tennis at Red Cliffs Lawn Tennis Club
Toward the end of Term 1, our students had the privilege of using the wonderful facilities at Red Cliffs Lawn Tennis Club — a beautifully maintained venue with numerous grass courts and a lovely shady club area. We are very grateful to the club for making their facilities available to us.
From Prep through to Year 3–4, students enjoyed a variety of fun games designed to get them moving and develop their hand-eye coordination, racquet skills, and ball control. At Year 5–6 level, this progresses into increasingly realistic games and matches, with students learning proper scoring and playing within a structured format. Due to our tight school schedule, matches are played up to three games, allowing everyone to get maximum court time.
Gimmel Class (Year 5–6) Tournament
Our Year 5–6 students had a fantastic introductory tournament. In the boys' final, Christian Hooper (Agape) defeated Regan Janetzki (Makrothumia) 4–3 (4–1 in the tiebreak), while the girls' final saw Jolie Nziama (Makrothumia) defeat Esther Khil Teng (Agape) 3–0.
Secondary Tournament (Years 7–10)
Our secondary students were fortunate to have three days to complete their draws, with full Ladies' Singles, Men's Singles, and Open Doubles competitions. The final day — Tuesday of Week 10 — was a wonderful occasion, with parents and staff attending to create a real match atmosphere. Students also stepped up as line judges and ball kids, adding greatly to the experience.
Finals Results
- Ladies' Singles: Lucie Hawcroft (Makrothumia) def. Jennifer Al-Kalidi (Eirene) 4–2

Overall House Winner: Agape — congratulations to all Agape competitors across both the primary and secondary draws, who accumulated enough points across all matches to finish ahead of Makrothumia and Eirene.
Congratulations to all competitors, and many thanks to the staff involved — including Mr Faoa, our wonderful bus driver, for running all the transport to and from the club.
