What does the word “alumni” mean?

Sometimes, when we run alumni career sessions, students ask what the word means.

“Alumni”, is a Latin word, which means a person who attended an institution or school.

The Northern Bay College alumni program, now in its third year, is all about keeping in contact with our ex-students, and enriching and strengthening our school community.

We want all students to continue to be a part of the Northern Bay College community, after leaving the school gates, so we can share their successes, celebrate all the talented and skilled ex-students, and bring alumni back to share their knowledge with our current students.

Alumni come back to Open Night:

There’s no better opportunity to welcome back alumni, than at our school’s Open Night, which took place in April.

Our alumni spoke to families about their time at Northern Bay College and shared their experiences.

Thank you to Leif, Sarah, Marie, Mikaela and Aleena for giving their time to come back, was so nice to have our recent graduates still a part of their school. 

Call out for alumni! 

We will be bringing alumni back for Careers Week sessions later this term and would love to bring in a broad range of careers, especially those who have not participated yet.
