Maths Help at Home

Supporting your child with Maths at home doesn’t have to mean worksheets or extra homework. Simple, everyday activities can make a big difference! Cooking together, measuring ingredients, playing board games, reading timetables, shopping and handling money are all fantastic ways to build number skills in real-life situations.

Encourage your child to explain their thinking when solving a problem — even if they make a mistake. Talking about how they worked something out helps build confidence and deeper understanding.

Most importantly, keep Maths positive! Celebrating effort, persistence and improvement helps children develop a growth mindset and feel more confident in their abilities.

If you would like extra resources or guidance to support your child at home, please don’t hesitate to contact your child’s teacher or see the below document.
