Message from our Principal
Mr Mark Pollard
Dear Silverton families,
I’d like to start by saying congratulations to our Foundation students who have completed their testing and our now attending school full time. A big thank you to our Foundation teachers for their hard work too.
Our staff engaged in a Professional Learning Day with Bron Ryrie-Jones on the 4th Feb focusing on responsive teaching strategies. The staff will be working in teams on an action research project this year and are energised to implement some of the learnings from this fantastic day.
Thank you to everyone who came along to the Meet n Greet BBQ earlier this Term. A big thank you to all staff for their organisation, presentations and of course cooking the BBQ on the night as well. It was a great evening bringing our Silverton community together to kick start 2026.
Thank you to the LC4 staff for planning and organisation of our first House Day for 2026. It was a great day!

Congratulations to our 2026 student leaders who were presented with their badges at assembly in week 4. Thank you to Mayor Sophie Tan who attended the assembly to speak and to present the leaders with their badges.
I’d like to wish our Year 3 and Year 5 students all the best for their upcoming NAPLAN testing. Thank you in advance to our staff for their flexibility during NAPLAN and for supporting our students. NAPLAN testing is happening on 11th, 12th, 17th and 18th of March.
A reminder that School Photo Day is scheduled for Wednesday 11th March.
Play the Silverton Way is happening on Wednesday 25th March from 4:00pm – 5:00pm. This session is for any children who will be starting Foundation in 2027 or 2028. If you have a child that is due to start school in the next 2 years, please come along and join in the fun! If you have any friends or family with a little one, please also encourage them to come along.

Silverton PS is a Rubbish Free school. I’m asking that all families continue to support this initiative by ensuring that lunch boxes are free from plastic wrappers. Some simple ideas are to take snacks out of their plastic packets and put them as well as sandwiches into small plastic containers in your child’s lunch box.
As we are a SunSmart school, all students are required to have a broad brimmed school hat to wear at all times when they are outside during Term One. If you need assistance getting a hat for your child, please let the admin team know.
To ensure safety of all of our community members, please ensure that everyone crosses the roads at the designated school crossings. Please do not perform U-turns outside the school gates.
Thank you for your ongoing support.
