Year 8 Girls Football

Our Year 8 girls football team delivered an outstanding performance yesterday as they travelled to Leongatha to compete in interschool AFL.

The girls came out firing in their opening match, securing a 38–0 win over Leongatha Secondary College. Carrying that momentum into their second game, they faced a much tougher challenge against Bass Coast (San Remo campus). With only a single point separating the teams at half time. However, a powerful second-half effort saw our girls take control and finish strongly with a 34–10 win.

These results placed the team at the top of their pool, earning them a well-deserved spot in the Grand Final against Mary MacKillop. In a hard-fought and highly competitive match, both teams displayed great talent and determination. Despite giving their all, our girls were unable to secure the final win.

Regardless of the result, the team’s effort, sportsmanship, and commitment throughout the day were exceptional. Every player contributed and represented the school with pride.

A special thank you to Gypsy for her coaching and support. Her guidance made a clear impact, with the girls listening closely and putting her advice into action on the field.
