Year 9 Surfing

Early start, big waves, and even bigger smiles!

On Tuesday 28 April, our Year 9 Outdoor Education elective students headed to URBNSURF in Tullamarine for an incredible Water Safety & Surfing session, proudly supported by the Department of Education and Surfing Victoria.

Despite the 6:30am departure, the excitement was high as students arrived at the world-class facility. Throughout the day, they built valuable skills in water safety, including risk assessment, understanding rips and currents, and learning essential rescue techniques.

And of course—what better way to experience the power of the ocean than by hitting the waves!  Students showed fantastic resilience and teamwork as they safely navigated the surf.
