As Term 3 draws to a close, it is an opportunity to reflect on another busy and rewarding term at Mary MacKillop Catholic Regional College.

Learning in the Classrooms

At the heart of our College is the learning that takes place each day. Throughout Term 3, students have engaged in a broad educational program designed to develop their knowledge, skills, confidence and independence.

Our teachers continue to provide learning experiences that challenge and support students at their individual points of need. From practical and hands-on learning to collaborative projects, classroom discussions and real-world applications, students are encouraged to participate, progress and achieve.

We congratulate our students on their commitment to learning and thank our teaching and support staff for their work throughout the term.

Learning Beyond the Classroom

Learning also extends well beyond the classroom. The Year 11 Retreat, Live4Life, Science Week, the Josephite Pilgrimage in Tasmania, SSV Sport, the Yarram Eisteddfod and our Year 12 student leaders meeting Bishop Greg are just some of the experiences our students have participated in this term.

Another highlight was Arts Amplified Event. The evening celebrated the creativity, talent and hard work of our students across the Arts and Technology areas.

We have also celebrated many individual and team achievements across sport, the arts and the wider community. It has been wonderful to see our students represent the College and pursue their interests with enthusiasm.

Looking Ahead to 2027

Term 3 has also been an important period of preparation for 2027. Students have completed their subject preferences, while significant work has taken place to determine subject offerings and commence staffing preparations for next year.

Thank you to our students, families, Learning Area Leaders and teaching staff for their input and patience throughout this process. Planning will continue into Term 4.

Our Year 12 Students

We acknowledge our Year 12 students who completed their trial examinations this week. This is an important milestone and provides valuable preparation for their upcoming VCAA examinations.

We congratulate them on their efforts and encourage them to balance their revision with time to rest and recharge over the holidays.

Supporting One Another

R U OK? Day provided an important reminder of the value of checking in with one another, genuinely listening and looking out for those around us.

Our Parent Teacher Interviews also brought families, students and teachers together to discuss learning, progress and next steps. Thank you to our families for their continued partnership with the College.

Thank you to all our staff for their commitment throughout another busy term. Our teachers, Learning Support Officers, administration staff, maintenance and grounds staff, cleaners  and many others each play an important role in supporting our students and College community.

Thank you also to our students for the effort, resilience and enthusiasm they have demonstrated throughout Term 3.

Rest, Refresh and Recharge

As we head into the holiday break, I encourage everyone to take the opportunity to rest, refresh and recharge. Enjoy time with family and friends and return ready for an exciting final term of the year.
